I am a career reporter, writer and magazine editor who currently works as a public information
officer. I have strong communication and research skills. A multitasker, I can handle several
different assignments and duties simultaneously. I am an exceptional verbal communicator
knowledgeable in a variety of topics. I’m creative and tenacious and an outside-the-box thinker
who is highly organized. I have raised Monongalia County Health Department’s profile by
working with the media, writing for the newspaper and expanding our social media presence.

My work has won awards from the West Virginia Press Association. I was also named CNHI
Reporter of the Year, Division 2, in 2011.


I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from The American University in
Washington, D.C. and also studied journalism. I made the Dean’s List, served as a reporter and
campus news editor of The Eagle student newspaper and I studied British politics and theater
for a semester in London, England, where I also interned for a magazine.
